Teak Garden Table
Teak is a great, probably the best timber for garden furniture as it has a high natural oil content. The teak wood is weather resistant and you lovely furniture can be left outside throughout the whole year. It is perfectly normal for them to develop cracks along the grain after they have been exposed to the good old british weather i’e sun and rain. Your wooden garden furniture needs very little attention. All that we recommend at www.gardenfurniture.uk.com is that you give it an annual scrub with warm soapy water to remove algae, air pollution and marks and blemishes. This restores the surface of the timber. All timber eventually (including teak) turns a beautiful silver-grey colour. For a less weathered appearance, it’s possible to restore some of the original colour of the timber through a three-stage process which some recommend, this involves applying teak cleaner followed by teak brightener and finishing off with a sealer or teak oil, we don’t recommend you use this process but if you do decide to go ahead, please make sure the timber is completely dry before you apply teak oil, otherwise it can blacken the timber and make your lovely table look awful .
